MILFORD, Mich- Several people were taken to the hospital this weekend, after a hayride accident in Metro Detroit.
It happened on Sunday, at Camp Dearborn in Milford. Witnesses tell WJBK that the side rail slid off of a wagon, which caused passengers to fall off during the ride. They also said that some of those drivers had been going too fast for their comfort.
“I saw an ambulance go by, then I saw fire truck go by, then I saw several more,” one witness told WJBK.
Eight people ended up going to the hospital and were treated for minor injuries.
After the incident, Camp Dearborn posted the following statement online:
“This evening an incident occurred during a hayride at Camp Dearborn. There were injuries to some participants. Most were treated on site and have since left the campground. Additional participants were alert yet transported via ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Later scheduled hayrides proceeded without issue.”
