Credit Union Robbed In Grand Rapids: Two Suspects In Custody

10-31-13 Kent Co Credit Union Robbery scene 01GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police started a search for a suspect who robbed the Kent County Credit Union on the Northeast side.

As a result, Riverside Middle School was placed on lockdown for a short time as a precaution, then City Middle High School.

Though the credit union is located on Plainfield Avenue just south of City High School, the search for the suspect was focused for a time in the neighborhood west of the Cheshire business district.

Officers also canvassed the neighborhood behind the credit union.

The robbery occurred sometime after 9 a.m. on October 31. Two suspects have been caught and are in police custody.

    Um…it is City Middle/High School now…not Creston! Was City and Palmer Elementary put on lockdown? Much closer to the credit union than Riverside. I realize they are searching near Riverside to find a suspect, but I would think all the schools were put on lockdown!
