OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A Holland Township couple spent more than 10 hours in a ditch after a serious accident Thursday night.
Ottawa County Deputies said that 35-year-old Alonzo Martinez crashed into a tree off of Ferris Street east of Ravine View Drive at around 10 p.m. He and his girlfriend, 32-year-old Michelle Teffeteller, weren’t discovered until 8:14 a.m. when someone spotted their vehicle from the road and called police.
Martinez was transported by AeroMed to a Grand Rapids hospital and remains in critical condition. Teffeteller was taken to an Ottawa County hospital in serious condition. Deputies say she was thrown from the vehicle, while Martinez remained pinned inside overnight.
