DETROIT, Mich- Eminem’s childhood home has been damaged by a fire.

The boarded-up bungalow just south of 8 Mile went up in flames Thursday evening.  Firefighters say the fire damaged portions of the home’s top floor. Right now, it’s unclear what sparked that fire.

The home had been owned by Eminem’s mother in the 1980s, then had several different owners before finally being foreclosed.

TMZ reports the home was recently put up for auction online, but couldn’t fetch $500. It’s now a bank-owned property.

Eminem featured that home on the cover of his 2000 album titled, “The Marshall Mathers LP,” as well as his latest album that came out this month.
