Person of Interest in Mary Lands’ Disappearence Released from Prison

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Christopher Pratt, a person of interest in the 2004 disappearance of Mary Lands, was paroled from prison this week after a serving time for separate domestic violence charges.

Pratt, 45, was released from prison Wednesday.  He will be on probation until Nov. 6, 2015.

In January 2008, Pratt was convicted on domestic abuse charges with his then-girlfriend. The three charges in that case landed him a combined jail sentence of between seven and 24 years in prison.

Pratt served about one year and two months less than the minimum sentence.

Mary Lands disappeared March 12, 2004 after an argument with Pratt, her then-fiance.  She was never found, but a court declared her dead in 2011 at her family’s request.
