Veterans Saluted With Discounted Meals, Deals and Freebies

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Monday is Veterans Day, and with that comes some special deals and savings around West Michigan to honor those who serve our country.

FOX17 has compiled a list of both national businesses and those right here in our backyard so you can save.

Check ahead of time with any business before going there, because some of the national chains may be subject to local manager’s decisions or have other restrictions.

Some businesses also require one proof of military service such as a U.S. Uniform Service ID card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired ID card, current Leave and Earnings statement, or a photograph in uniform.

Bar Louie: Sunday Nov. 10 and Monday Nov. 11

Veterans receive free meals during lunch and dinner. The deal is only good on any food item up to a $12 value. Beverages and gratuity not included.

Applebee’s: Free meal from limited Veterans Day Menu for Veterans and active duty military. Menu includes steak, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, salads and shrimp.

Chili’s: Free meal from limited Veterans Day Menu for Veterans and active duty military.

Olive Garden: Veterans and current service members get a free meal from the special Veterans Day Menu. All month long, current military members and families get 10% off

On The Border: On The Border is giving veterans and active duty military members a free Create Your Own Combo Meal where they’ll get to choose two or three selections of soup, salad, tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, and other classics. On the Border will also be donating 15% of all sales on Veterans Day to Carry the Load when guests bring in a give-back flyer. Military service proof is required.

Krispy Kreme: Veterans will receive a doughnut and a small coffee. No purchase is necessary.

McDonald’s : 19 participating West Michigan locations offering all veterans a free meal. Military identification preferred, but not required.

November 12 to December 31, 2013: Outback Steakhouse is also giving out a military discount of 10% off the total check

Red Robin: Veterans and active duty military members get a free Red’s Tavern Double burger and Bottomless Steak Fries.

Texas Roadhouse: Monday, Nov. 11: Free meal for active, former, or retired military from special Veterans Menu .

Denny’s: All active, non-active, and retired military personnel can get free all you can eat pancakes from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Need valid military ID.

Famous Dave’s: Two Meat Salute: Free Two Meat Lunch Combo with valid Military ID

Tim HortonsFree donuts to all active and inactive U.S. military veterans. Veterans will need to be in uniform or show military ID. No purchase necessary.

Little Caesar’s: Bring in proof of service such as your ID card or DD-214 form to get a free order of Crazy Bread.

Golden Corral: From 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Golden Corral will be giving out Veterans Day free meals to any person who has ever served in the U.S. military or is on current active duty.

Red Lobster: Monday Nov. 11th through Nov. 14th

Bob Evan’s: Veterans and active military personnel receive free all you can eat hotcakes. Proof of military service required

Texas Corral: Veterans and active duty service members can eat free at Texas Corral from a special Veterans Day menu.

T.G.I. Friday’s:Bring proof of military service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and receive any item off the lunch menu for free.

  • JCPenney: 20 percent off for all current and  former military personnel and family members of active duty, reserves, guard and retirees. Please print a copy of this coupon.

VETERANS DAY FREEBIES

  • Free Haircuts at Great Clips – Veterans and active/inactive/retired military members can stop into Great Clips on Monday, November 11 and get a free haircut or pickup a free haircut card to use before the end of the year. Anyone can stop in to get their haircut and receive a free haircut card they can give to a veteran. These cards will also be available on their Facebook page.
  • Free Haircuts at Sports Clips – Veterans and active duty U.S. service members can stop into participating Sports Clips on Monday, November 11, 2013 to get a free haircut.
