JENISON, Mich. — Officials are investigating an incident where a misspelled racial slur was written in ash on the siding of a home in Jenison.
A family found the word “niger,” written on their Meadwobrook Drive home Sunday. Officials believe the suspect or suspects misspelled the word they meant to leave on the home.
Lt. Mark Bennett of Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said they are investigating individuals at a Saturday night sleepover in the area. The couple who lives in the home also has two teenage children and officials are looking for potential classmates that may be responsible.
