GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Seasonably cool weather will greet hunters Friday morning as firearm deer season opens around the state of Michigan.

Temperatures will be in the mid 30s in most locations, with a bit of a southwest breeze still holding up after windy conditions during the day Thursday.  Skies will be party cloudy for most of West Michigan, although more clouds and some light rain showers are possible mainly in northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

A mix of clouds and sun will continue throughout the day Friday as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 40s in the afternoon.  Winds will remain out of the southwest at roughly ten miles per hour throughout the day.

Sunrise Friday morning in Grand Rapids is at 7:34 A.M., and sunset is at 5:19 P.M.

Conditions will be similar early in the day Saturday, with more clouds and eventually some rain moving into the state by late Saturday.  More wet weather is expected Sunday.  Cold air and lake-effect snow are set to return early next week.

Good luck for safe and successful hunting!
