Fruitport Township Police Investigating Death of 54-year-old Muskegon Man Found In Woods

generic police lightsFRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Fruitport Township Police Department is investigating the death of a 54-year-old male subject discovered in a wooded area in the 5200 block of S. Quarterline Road in Fruitport Township.

Initial reports indicate the male subject had recently been living in a tent in the wooded area at this location. He was discovered to be unresponsive by a family member who went to check on him at that location shortly before 3 p.m. November 18.

Fruitport Township Police Department and the Medical Examiner’s Office conducted a coordinated investigation at the scene. Initial findings were that there were no signs of obvious trauma or suspected foul play.

The cause of death is still under investigation. An autopsy will be conducted.

No further information regarding the investigation, including the name of the deceased, is being released at this time.

    Gee, He was living in a tent and yet a family member went to check on him but didn’t care enough to give him a place to stay especially in the cold?
    He probably died from living in a tent while out in the elements!
