allegan sheriffLEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Children’s Protective Services and the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department are looking into the death of a child Friday night.

A deputy was dispatched to Allegan General Hospital just before 7 p.m. to a call about an unresponsive 8-month-old child that had been brought to the hospital. Medical staff were not able to revive the child.

Because of the young age of the child, CPS and county detectives were contacted as a precaution. The death does not appear to be suspicious and there were no signs of trauma, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.
