Late-Night Pizza Franchise Looking to Expand to GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — According to the Grand Rapids Business Journal, Toppers Pizza is looking to slice into the Grand Rapids market.

The chain’s target market is college students and other customers between 18 and 34 years old. The chain includes both company-owned locations and franchise stores.

As part of its targeting of college students, most of the chain’s stores remain open until 3:00 a.m. or later to accommodate late-night business. According to Toppers’ Wikipedia page, when a new location is opened, Toppers’ promotional strategy includes awarding one year’s free food to each of the first 50 in-store customers which causes hordes of people to line up for hours.
