Niles Township sexual assault suspect

NILES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Berrien deputies Tuesday released photos of a man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Niles Township.

The girl was walking east on River Road near the intersection of Red Bud at approximately 4:05 p.m. Monday and was taken by a man in a four-door, dark-colored vehicle.

He then allegedly took her to two different locations in Niles Township and sexually assaulted her.  She was then dropped off at a mobile home park in the Buchanan area.

The suspect was described by deputies as a white male in his mid-twenties to mid-thirties, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall.  He was approximately 240 lbs. and had brown hair and brown eyes.

His vehicle was a late ’90s to early 2000s Pontiac sedan.  It was a dark color, possibly blue or black, and had a rear spoiler on the trunk and a baby seat in the backseat.
