NORTON SHORES, Mich.— Water has been restored to a Muskegon County mobile home park after management failed to pay the utility bill.

More than 20 tenants of the Crestview Estates mobile home park, 3290 Getty St., Norton Shores, were without water Thursday.

According to the City of Norton Shores, water was restored Friday morning after management of the Troy-based property owner paid half of the bill.  It was turned back on following a FOX 17 report.  The remainder of the bill must be paid by January 10th or water will be turned off again, said a representative with the city Friday.

On Thursday, site manager Ken Swineheart said that the park’s water bill for October was $9,700. That’s up from $2,800 in January. He said that the bill was too costly for the company to pay it on time.  Swineheart said that the tenant’s rent includes monthly water fees.

According to the City of Norton Shores, the bill was due on Novemeber 10, 2013, and the company didn’t contact them until it posted a notice to shut the water off.

The city said that once the property management company pays half of the current bill, water will be restored.
