BATTLE CREEK, Mich.-The Calhoun County prosecutor says the Battle Creek police officer who shot a 14-year-old carrying a fake gun was justified in that shooting.
In November, Nick King was shot near a party store at Washington Avenue and Grove Street. Police say they ordered him to show his hands and saw what appeared to be a handgun.
Battle Creek Police say an officer fired one round and King dropped the apparent weapon and took off.
Police found him a short distance from the store suffering from a single gunshot wound.
King was expected to recover. No charges will be filed.
