**WEATHER SLIDESHOW HERE**

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Ice covered streets across west Michigan caused multiple car crashes on Friday.

Lacey Ragay lives in northeast Grand Rapids, and she woke up to discover someone had struck her vehicle. While a Kent County Sheriff’s Deputy was at her home to take the report, another vehicle came down Oak Cliff Rd., sliding off the roadway and into the ditch.

Stacey Martinez of west Grand Rapids spent her afternoon breaking away ice on her sidewalk. She said that it’s important to clear the sidewalks for people who walk dogs and small children who might walk in the area.

FOX 17 came across a man named Rick Sloan. Sloan said that he rides his bicycle to work everyday, even if roads are covered in ice. Sloan said his 2.7 mile trip to work was almost perfect, until he slid off his bike in his work’s parking lot.

Main roadways in Grand Rapids didn’t cause any major problems on Friday, however side streets caused problems for many drivers.
