MIDDLEVILLE, Mich- The Steensma family loves to go rustic camping so they refuse to left life with no power keep them from celebrating Christmas. They are a household like thousand in Barry county that are without power after this week-ends ice storm.

So how are they dealing with it? By using a generator for a little bit of heat and most importantly to power their TV and Christmas tree.

Brittany Steensma says her family loves to go rustic camping so this is no big deal. “Our vacations include stopping somewhere along Lake Michigan at a campsite with no water or power.”

They are using their gas grill to make meals and have an artesian well in the backyard so while the menu for Christmas dinner may have to be adjusted, they can use the toilet and wash the dishes.

Family time will be just that for the Steensma’s this Christmas
