Gas Prices Spike After Christmas

Gas PricesCOOPERSVILLE, Mich. — If you’re one of the thousands hitting the road to head home after Christmas, you might notice a jump at the pump when you stop for gas.

FOX 17 found prices at around $3.50 a gallon in Coopersville Thursday.

Gas prices also hovered at around that price in the Grand Rapids area, with several stations in Walker, Kentwood, Wyoming and Cascade listed at $3.49 a gallon.

The BP station at Lakewood Drive and Glenwood Avenue in Grand Rapids was on the lower end, with prices listed at $3.14.

Sparta had among the lowest prices in West Michigan.  The Family Fare at State Street and 12 Mile was listed at $3.09 for a gallon of regular unleaded, according to Gas Buddy.

Across the state the average is about $3.37 per gallon.
