Michigan Secretary of State Branches Closed Across Dozens of Counties Due to Storm

secretary of stateLANSING, Mich. — Secretary of State branches across Michigan are expected to close on Jan. 6 due to the severe winter storm hitting the state.

However, the Secretary of State is still open for business online at for services like license plate tabs and driver’s license renewals. Before you head to a branch, you’re encouraged to double check whether or not it’s closed online.

Counties where the impacted branches are include:

  • Cass
  • Calhoun
  • Eaton
  • Hillsdale
  • Huron
  • Ingham
  • Jackson
  • Kalamazoo
  • Lapeer
  • Lenawee
  • Livingston
  • Macomb
  • Monroe
  • Oakland
  • St. Clair
  • St. Joseph
  • Sanilac
  • Shiawassee
  • Tuscola
  • Van Buren
  • Washtenaw
  • Wayne (except for Detroit  Super!Center)
