WEST MICHIGAN — The attached snapshot is an image of our current winter weather warnings and advisories. Everything in pink represents A Winter Storm Warning for another 4″-8″ of accumulating snow through Tuesday night with considerable blowing and drifting and white-out conditions at times. Notice with a strong west wind that locations along/west of U.S. 131 will see the most snow. Most of the warnings remain in effect through 8:00 Am Tuesday.

The counties shaded in purple are under (lesser) Winter Weather Advisories until 8:00 AM Tuesday, except for Newaygo and Montcalm which expire at 8:00 PM Monday. Another 2″-4″ of snow will fall in those areas with blowing and drifting and treacherous road conditions.

Keep in mind that all of Michigan (upper and lower) is under Wind Chill Warnings through Tuesday. Here in West Michigan they remain in effect until 7:00 PM Tuesday. Expect wind chills running at -20 to -30 in most locations, with -30 to -50 along/south of the I-94 corridor where there is no influence from Lake Michigan.

Keep in mind the core of the coldest air will only be in place Monday and Tuesday. Our temperatures are expected to moderate in to the mid/upper teens by Wednesday with a warm up at/above freezing by the weekend. Get more at www.fox17online.com/weather.
