BYRON CENTER, Mich.—It’s a holiday tradition that’s grabbing national attention. For the last 10 years, the Lucas family tries to build the biggest snowman they can.

They even recruit family visiting from California during the holidays for the build. After five days of work, the snowman grew to 15 feet tall. They used construction boxes for the mold and snow from the neighbor’s driveway.

Michelle Lucas helped build the snowman this year and she says the family likes to do this because it’s their gift back to the community.

If you want to check the snowman out, it’s standing along Berry Brook Drive, just southwest of 76th Street and Kalamazoo Avenue.

The snowman has already been shown on The Weather Channel and national prime-time news; it has more than six thousand likes on Facebook.
