WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — West Michigan remains in the throes of some very cold air, but all indications are a big warmup is just a few days away.

This image shows high temperatures across our area on Tuesday. Most places didn’t get above 10 degrees, with some areas not even getting above zero.  Wind chill temperatures were below zero all day and will remain as such most of the night.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect along and west of U.S. 131 until 9:00am Wednesday, with the rest of West Michigan under a wind chill advisory. All warnings have been cancelled.  Another few inches of snow will fall in some spots tonight, while wind chills remain between 10 and 20 below zero.

Although it will be cold again Wednesday and Wednesday night with highs in the teens and lows below zero, warmer temperatures arrive later this week into the upcoming weekend. We are forecasting a high of 40 degrees by Sunday.

This image is from the College of DuPage and shows a computer model prediction on Sunday afternoon of highs near 40 degrees.
