The crash happened at about 8:00 p.m. near the Oakland Drive exit, according to Portage police.  It started when a pickup truck lost control and struck the median barrier.  Two other vehicles side-swiped each other trying to avoid the truck.  Then, a semi came to a stop to try and avoid all of it, but was then struck from behind by another vehicle.  A final pickup truck lost control while also trying to avoid the chaos, left the road, and rolled over.

Three people suffered minor injuries.

At roughly 9:30 p.m. the highways reopened, according to MDOT.
