According to Undersheriff Bob Baker, 22-year-old Daniel Replogle was arrested Thursday morning for home charges out of Eaton County and is also wanted in connection with similar crimes in Barry County.

Replogle was handcuffed and placed in the back of a new Chevy Tahoe police vehicle, but according to Baker was able to slip his legs through and move his cuffed hands to the front of his body.

He then fled the vehicle because the locks were not activated.

“The child locks are activated by use of the ignition key, which we were never told about,” Baker said in an email.

Deputies caught up with Replogle a few blocks away and took him back into custody.
