flu-clinic-signGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Three people over 50 have died recently in Kent County after contracting H1N1 influenza A, the Kent County Health Department said Thursday.

All the deaths were of people over age 50, though several deaths were earlier reported in eastern Michigan of healthy young adults, the department’s statement said. At least 26 people in Kent County have been hospitalized out of more than 400 reported flu cases.

Two of the cases that resulted in death involved previous “underlying medical conditions,” said Adam London, the department’s administrative health officer.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in December 2013 issued an advisory about an increase in the number of young and middle-aged people coming down with severe respiratory illness.

The Kent County Health Department did not identify the victims but urged people to get vaccinated. “The influenza vaccine this year is highly effective protection against the flu, including H1N1,” the department’s statement said.

Does nobody see the correlation between the flu shots and the flu? Has anyone noticed that the more flue shots given = more cases of flu?? Duh, they are giving the flu to people so that when they get the flu it won't last as long. Meanwhile they are spreading the flu to the multitudes! Brilliant….

I highly doubt its a conspiracy to get everyone to get the flu shot. How would they give people the flu? Who has it to give? Do they sprinkle it on our food? pipe it through the ventilation systems? Just because you haven't had the flu, doesn't mean it's because you haven't had the shot. I never had the shot either. I'm healthy and young and don't take any prescription drugs, yet I almost died from H1N1 in 2009. I get a shot every year now because there is no way I want to suffer like that again. If it is all a scam to get $30 from me every year, then I'm cool with that- but I highly doubt it. That's just paranoid thinking.
