CHICAGO- He’s a famous Grand Rapids artist with pieces displayed everywhere from the Kennedy Center to the Pushkin Museum in Moskow.
Now, Paul Collins will unveil his largest mural of the decade.
On Monday, Martin Luther King Day, Collins “I Have a Dream – End Slums” mural will be unveiled at the MLK Fail Housing Exhibit in Chicago.
The 10ft x 7ft mural shows Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the forefront, contemplating the struggles for freedom and equality.
By creating the mural, Collins says he’s keeping a promise he made to Coretta Scott King.
“She said Paul please do me a favor, don`t let the community forget our struggle and who we are, don`t let them forget Martin’s dream, I want you to do that for me, because you can do it.
Collins says he was thinking of that promise while he created the mural.
