GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — What was initially an on-time morning commute was spoiled by a four-vehicle crash on US-131.
No one was hurt in the accident.
The left two northbound lanes were blocked by the crash and emergency vehicles between Franklin Street and Wealthy Street around 7:40 a.m. The resulting backup quickly stretched to 36th Street, with traffic barely moving. By 8:15 a.m., traffic was backed up to 44th Street.
The crash scene was cleared around 8:20 a.m., but the traffic jam remained due to a crash that blocked the left northbound lane on US-131 just south of Franklin Street.
