WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Although current temperatures (pictured) are fairly tolerable across West Michigan, another blast of cold air moves in tonight on strong winds. This will create subzero wind chills, lake-effect snow showers, blowing snow, and drifting snow. Travel will be treacherous at times as well.

All of West Michigan is under a winter weather advisory until 7:00pm Monday. A wind chill watch is in effect from Monday afternoon until 7:00am Wednesday.

Here is a look at temperatures and wind chills for Monday morning:

It’s going to be even colder on Tuesday morning. Take a look:

Some areas will have wind chill readings as cold as 30 below. Frostbite can occur within 20 minutes under these conditions.

The bitter cold will likely result in more school closings. In fact, Sturgis has already called off classes for Monday. There will likely be others. For the latest look at closings, click HERE.
