Flames Reported from Roof of Loft-Style Apartment Building

fire pic 111 divGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Fire crews were kept busy early Tuesday morning, when flames shot through the roof of a loft-style apartment building.

The fire was reported at Harris Lofts, located at 111 S. Division in Grand Rapids.

When crews arrived at the three-story building, they made their way to the third floor, and eventually found themselves on the roof.  Additional units were called to make sure the flames did not spread.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.  Battalion Chief Dan Stoddard told FOX 17 News that the fire started in the air conditioning units on the roof of the building.
