Shooting Near Michigan State University, Gunman at Large

EAST LANSING, Mich. –  A search is underway in East Lansing for the suspect who shot a person near the Michigan State University campus Friday night.

Students were alerted by text message Friday evening to the shooting which read, “Shooting occured at 845pm in 200 block of Cedar St in East Lansing.  Suspect is a black male average height & build.  Call ELPD at 517-319-6897 with information.”  The address comes back to Cedar Village Apartments which is adjacent to the MSU campus.

Lansing television station WLNS reports the victim is hospitalized in critical condition.

“Official says the shooting does not appear to be random,” WLNS Reporter Emerald Morrow tweeted early Saturday morning.
