Firefighters were recently dispatched to a large house fire in the 1100 block of West Larch, and found a nearby hydrant had been shoveled out by residents, allowing them to quickly respond to the fire.

Authorities with the Muskegon Fire Department issued a release, thanking the individual(s) for the effort.

Fire officials in the City of Muskegon are asking residents to report a hydrant that may be buried in their area through the city’s website.  This application applies to the City of Muskegon only, and not neighboring municipalities.
