Elderly Woman Dies in Overnight Mobile Home Fire

ORANGEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Feb. 13, 2014) — An elderly woman was killed in a fire at a mobile home park early Thursday morning.

The fire was at a mobile home located at 4577 Circle Inn Drive in Barry County’s Orangeville Township.  Sheriff’s deputies say a call to 911 was made from the address, but nobody was on the other line.

According to fire officials at the scene, the victim has been identified as 81-year-old Wanda Cooper.  Family members say she was living there alone.

The fire did spread to at least one other mobile home, but it’s unclear how much damage was done.  The cause remains under investigation.
