GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb. 13, 2014) — After a rare stretch of quiet winter weather around West Michigan this week, some snow showers may create a few issues on the roads again by late in the day Thursday.

A bit of clearing developed ahead of the next weather system Thursday morning, allowing for some sunshine but also temperatures falling south of Grand Rapids.  However, much of West Michigan held morning readings in the teens to around 20°, a solid twenty to thirty degrees warmer than the same time Wednesday morning.

Clouds will increase again as the snow showers approach from the west, but any snow will hold off until mid- to late-afternoon for most of the area.  A quick burst of snow may be enough to coat the roads and create slick driving by the evening commute, but any given location will only see a couple of hours of snow through the evening.  Accumulations will stay under one inch, with the possible exception of areas north of Grand Rapids.

Snow will move out overnight, with just a few flurries or possibly some freezing drizzle on Friday.  Check out the rest of the 7 Day Forecast, including a significant warmup next week, on the Weather page.
