UPDATE: Authorities Identify Husband & Wife Killed in Valentine’s Day Crash
NUNICA, Mich. (Feb. 14, 2014) – Two people are dead after a driver lost control then crashed into a truck pulling a trailer in Ottawa County.
The crash happened just before 1pm on February 14 in the area of Apple Drive and State Road in Nunica.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said a vehicle traveling westbound with a husband and wife lost control of their vehicle and crossed the centerline, then slammed into an on-coming truck which was hauling a trailer. The husband and wife died. The driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department says the road conditions were slushy and had a slight glaze on them at the time of the crash. At this time deputies don’t believe speed was a factor.
Names of the crash victims have not been released.
