KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Feb. 18, 2014) — FOX 17 obtained and reviewed a search warrant executed by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office in the Teleka Patrick case.

The Kalamazoo doctor went missing December 5, 2013. Her car was found the same night on I-94 in Portage, Ind.

The search warrant affidavit is dated December 10. In it, a Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s detective laid out facts surrounding Patrick’s disappearance in order to get District Court Judge Julie Phillips’ signature on the warrant. The search warrant was for Dr. Patrick’s computer and “communication devices.” The detective reasoned that any retrieved information found on the device(s) might lead investigators to her whereabouts or people she had conversations with prior to her disappearance.

One of the facts detailed (which sparked the investigation) was that Patrick failed to report to work on December 6. She’s a medical resident at Kalamazoo’s Borgess Medical Center. The document reveals the identity of the residency program coordinator for the Western Michigan University School of Medicine who went to the sheriff’s office to file a missing persons report on the 6th. She told FOX 17 News that she’s not authorized to comment, and she deferred questions to the medical school’s spokesperson.

On December 9, the document states, Irene Patrick (Teleka’s mother) and a detective performed an “emergency search” of Patrick’s Gull Run Apartment. While inside the apartment, the detective seized Patrick’s HP Vision Computer. It had been placed in the possession of the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit in Rockford.

The judge approved the warrant’s execution.

December 11, a day after the approval, the detective reported back to the judge. The investigator indicated that “data contents from [the] computer hard drive” were searched. In a press conference, in late January, Sheriff Richard Fuller said nothing was found that would lead investigators to the missing woman’s whereabouts.

With the help of supporters, Patrick’s family is offering a $20,000 reward. If you have any information, call Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.

The Find Teleka Facebook group, which is approaching 12,000 supporters, posted the following message on Monday:

This is our nightmare.

Knowing that Teleka would not willingly disappear. Knowing that, regardless of whatever she was feeling, she would be in contact with either her family or closest friends. Knowing that she would not just walk away from her life. With the passing of everyday, the odds dwindle. With the passing of everyday, it becomes more and more difficult to process that Teleka is missing – without a trace.

In the face of all that has been come to light during the course of the investigation, our family has been buoyed by the constant prayers and well wishes from all of you. We ask that as you continue to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and snow-days, that you remember Teleka.

Remember her face. Remember her smile. Remember that she is a woman with a story. Remember that she deserves to be found. She is a beautiful person inside and out. And she has been missing for SEVENTY FOUR days. This is our new normal-and we are devastated. We are tired. We are afraid. But we WILL NOT give up hope that she will be found.

Please, PLEASE continue to share and post about Teleka Patrick. Please continue to keep your eyes and ears open. Please continue to pray for her safety and for the strength of our family. This is an impossible situation, but we know that with God ALL things are possible. #findteleka
