Two People Trapped In One Of Several Roof Collapses

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Feb. 19, 2014)  — Firefighters were able to free two people from their home early Wednesday after their roof collapsed.

The mishap took place around 3:30 a.m. at a home on Basswood Street in Georgetown Township, one of several similar incidents that took place in a 24-hour period.

It is unknown how hurt the residents were. The house was severely damaged.

In Lowell, a pole barn collapsed, damaging some vehicles. Another pole barn collapsed and damaged vehicles inside in the Ada area. No one was hurt in either incident.

In Holland, a carport collapsed as a couple was shoveling snow. A woman was pinned in the debris, but she was recovering from leg injuries Wednesday morning.

In Otsego, the roof collapsed in the empty gym area of the old Allegan Street Elementary School. No one was hurt.
