KNAPP AND VOGT ROOF COLLAPSE

Knapp & Vogt Manufacturing in Wyoming (February 20, 2014)

WYOMING, Mich (February 20, 2014) — No injuries were reported by witnesses after a partial roof collapse at a Wyoming manufacturing facility Thursday evening.

The collapse happened at Knape & Vogt Manufacturing in the 3800 block of Eastern Avenue SW.  Witnesses we spoke with at the scene say about 50 workers were inside when part of the roof caved in.

No injuries were reported.

Structural engineers are helping to assess the damage.

Damage inside the facility was visible from garage doors at the facility.

Meanwhile, management at Louis Padnos Iron & Metal Company in Grandville say they’ve closed their facility for the night and will assess damage Friday morning following a partial roof collapse.  Firefighters in Grandville responded to the facility after the partial collapse triggered a fire alarm around 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening.  All employees at the facility were accounted for and no injuries were reported at this incident either.
