FutureTrack HD Wind Chill Forecast Thursday 6 AM
WEST MICHIGAN (Feb. 26, 2014) — Another arctic blast has set its sights on West Michigan this week and will drop temperatures and wind chills below zero. As we near the end of meteorological winter, winter weather has not loosened its grip on West Michigan.
Temperatures Wednesday will remain cool, with afternoon highs warming into the low- to mid-teens. But winds will become gusty over the next few days, and feel-like temperatures will drop well below zero. As we head through the overnight Wednesday night, temperatures will fall into the single digits, snow will move in around midnight, and winds will become gusty.
Snow will continue through the overnight and start to come to an end by early Thursday morning with new accumulation between 1 and 4 inches total. Fresh snow combined with gusty winds will create visibility issues and slick roads Thursday morning. With temperatures in the single digits and winds gusting in excess of 25 miles per hour, feel-like temperatures will be between 10 and 20 below zero.
Feel-like temperatures will likely stay below zero from Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon as gusty winds and arctic air combine for dangerous wind chills. By Friday morning, temperatures will likely fall well below zero across West Michigan and will be very close to meeting if not breaking record morning lows.
Temperatures gradually warm into the 20s by the weekend, but a significant warm-up is nowhere in sight as winter holds on to its grip on West Michigan.
