Election-vote-ballot-boxRICHLAND, Mich. (Feb. 26, 2014) — Five votes.  That’s how close the results were for a proposed new property tax that would have gone toward facilities upkeep at Gull Lake Community Schools.

The proposal was defeated in Tuesday’s election 1,029 to 1,024.

Just under 14 percent of registered voters voted on the nine-year, 0.65-mill proposal.
