PORTLAND, Mich (Mar. 3, 2014) — Fire damaged the Reed & Hoppes Towing & Equipment salvage yard in Orange Township west of Portland late Sunday, but indications are they will be open for business Monday.

Several departments were needed to knock down the flames in one of the buildings at 2661 East Grand River Avenue, one of several locations for the company.

“We are still open for business and able to take care of your needs,” said Greg Kowalski, an employee, on the company’s Facebook page. In the post, Kowalski said no one was in the building at the time and that, while there was equipment in the building, it contained the least amount of equipment the company uses.

No one was hurt, and fire crews had left the scene by 4 a.m.
