1 Injured in Cass Co. Snowmobile Crash

generic police lightsCASS COUNTY, Mich. (March 9, 2014) — Two men were thrown from a snowmobile early Sunday morning after it crashed into a shore station on Magician Lake.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Ryan Smit, 20, was driving the snowmobile along the eastern shoreline at approximately 6:05 a.m. when he lost control.

He and his passenger, 22-year-old Andrew Camp, were thrown off the vehicle.

Camp was taken by Air Care to the hospital, according to a release.  Smit was not seriously injured.

Officials say that neither person was wearing a helmet and that alcohol was a factor in the crash.   The incident remains under investigation.
