LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Accusations are flying against Grand Rapids native and undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. after TMZ published a report stating he had two employees brutally assaulted.

A TMZ source said the incident stemmed from suspicions that Mayweather’s employees were suspected of stealing the boxer’s jewelry.

“Both of the men were hired to work on the boxing champ’s homes,” stated TMZ.  The entertainment site also stated that when Mayweather got wind of the thefts, he arranged a meeting with the men, along with other members of Mayweather’s staff, to assault them with ‘various weapons and clubs.’

In its article, the entertainment news site stated, “Both men had broken arms and legs and were hospitalized for several days.”

“But here’s the problem for the ex-champ — sources familiar with the situation say the attack amounts to attempted murder, mayhem and kidnapping,” said TMZ.

KVVU-TV, the FOX television station in Las Vegas, said police are considering this an on-going investigation; however, there have been no arrests made yet.
