Derrick WaltonINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 29, 2014) — The Michigan Wolverines are used to being the youngest team on the floor. But when they play Kentucky Sunday night in the Elite Eight at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the Wolverines will be the veteran squad.

“It’s different, but I don’t know how much it really matters,” said Michigan redshirt senior forward Jordan Morgan. “You know you’ve got one good team playing another good team. They’re playing really well right now. I don’t know if a veteran team matters. I mean, they beat Wichita State who was veteran-laden and Louisville — veteran-laden.”

Morgan is the only senior on Michigan’s squad, and, along with junior forward Jon Horford, is one of two upperclassmen who play regularly for the Wolverines. However, Kentucky has seven freshman that routinely play including all five starters. Kentucky is looking to become only the second team with five freshman starters to advance to the Final Four. The other team was the 1992 Michigan Wolverines led by the Fab Five.

“You know they played a big game yesterday,” said Michigan sophomore guard Spike Albrecht. “I don’t think there’s really an advantage either way at this point. You know it’s going to be a dog fight at this point.”

The Wolverines and Wildcats will battle in the Midwest Regional Final on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. The game will be televised by TBS.
