MUSKEGON, Mich. (April 1, 2014) — Two Ravenna sisters charged with trying to hire a hit man have both pleaded no contest, according to Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson.
Vickie Lynn Brill, 51, and Diane Marie Hart, 46, were accused of trying to hire a hit man last November to kill Hart’s husband.
The “hit man” was an undercover Michigan State Police officer, and videotaped the meeting in a car in a Norton Shores parking lot.
Police say the women offered jewelry and $5,000 to the undercover officer in exchange for the hit.
Hilson said that the intended target of the hit, Gene Hart, called police after he was tipped off by Diane’s brother.
Brill pleaded no contest to solicitation of murder Tuesday, while Hart pleaded March 20.
Each will spend at least six years behind bars but could serve life, Hilson said.
Hart is scheduled to be sentenced April 28 and Brill on May 6.
