VALLEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (April 2, 2014) — A 32-year-old man was arrested for reckless driving after a crash Monday in Allegan County.

According to a Wednesday release, the man was driving a pick-up truck on 43rd Street at about 11:22 a.m. when he failed to stop at the 118th Avenue intersection.

Allegan County deputies say he collided with a state-owned car driven by an on-duty Child Protective Services employee.

That CPS worker, Portage man BenjaminWoodward, was taken to the hospital and is still listed in critical condition as of Wednesday, deputies said.

The driver of the pick-up truck, who Allegan County deputies say was also exceeding the speed limit, was arrested for reckless driving.   He will be identified pending formal arraignment.
