HOLLAND, Mich. (April 3, 2014) — Brian Hagood said that in the summer, his group of friends often meet-up to share their love of their vehicles. The group is now wondering who is responsible for stealing several of their cars.

The report came on the same day the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department alerted residents of more than a dozen car break-ins around the Hudsonville area.

“I was getting my kids and myself ready for my grandmother`s funeral,” said Brian’s wife, Vickie Hagood. “He goes outside to get his car started, and he comes back in and he’s like, ‘Where is my car?'”

Hagood said that its been about three weeks since their 1992 Honda Civic was stolen from their home in Holland. “When I opened the door to go outside, I noticed it wasn’t sitting in the driveway anymore,” said Hagood.

Hagood said that he wasn’t the only one targeted and that over past several months three of his friends had their cars stolen, too.

The four cars stolen have all been modified with special parts, and, Hagood said, that might have been exactly what the thieves were after. “Looking for a way to make some easy money and tear the parts off of them is more or less what I was thinking,” said Hagood.

Hagood also said that the doors were locked, but that obviously didn’t stop the thieves.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said that there is an active investigation and it is searching for the suspects.
