OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (April 3, 2014) — The Oshtemo Township Fire Department posted a photo on social media Wednesday showing a new firefighter jacket that was wrongly labeled “Oshtmeo.”

“Near turnout gear came in… sad to say it took us a day to catch this,” the Facebook postsays.

According to MLive, the misspelled jackets are being sent back to the manufacturer and will be replaced at no cost to the township.  According to the fire department’s Facebook page, only two of the 14 sets of turnout gear had the misspelling.

In November the township initially approved a $29,000 purchase for 14 sets of turnout gear, MLive reports.
