newteleka1PORTER, Ind. (April 6, 2014) — The four-month search for a missing Kalamazoo doctor may have come to a tragic end.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement just after 2:30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday afternoon:

“On April 6, 2014 a fisherman found a body in Lake Charles in Porter, Indiana. The identity is unknown at this time. The Indiana State Police is investigating the incident. The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office has no further comment at this time.”

This is the same area that a car belonging to Teleka Patrick, 30, was found in December. Patrick had gone missing after leaving work at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

FOX 17 spoke with the Patrick family this afternoon. They declined to speak, but said they are currently “in mourning.”

FOX 17 will continue to bring updates throughout the evening and will be live in Porter during our 10:00 newscast.

    W. Michigan State's psychiatry residency program must be closed by the state authorities!!!! It has always been rated as one of the worst psychiatry residency programs in the USA and here's, sadly, more proof. Teleka was working there for 5 months and none of the attending physicians (university professors) and other residents were able to recognize that she was psychotic. Outrageous!!!! Her text messages showed that she was very paranoid and clearly having visual and auditory hallucinations. Think of all the physicians with whom she had to interact on a daily basis and all of them couldn't recognize paranoia, hallucinations, and delusions! Grrrrrrr! CLOSE THIS INCOMPETENT RESIDENCY PROGRAM!!!

    To Teleka's family,
I am very sorry for your loss. Teleka was a caring Christian who would have been a wonderful physician. She will be missed. May God comfort your family and all of her friends.

Just because she didn't get the help she needed doesn't mean that everybody else should suffer!!!!! Get over it already. Maybe they can now cover something else for a change instead of all the same coverage on the same missing person. There are all kinds of other missing people out there that you don't even hear about. What about the three little boys that came up missing while in the care of there father? Where is the coverage on them?

I figured they'd find her after the snow melted, how sad. Such a bright young lady and a life ended way too soon. Prayers for her family and friends, may the weeks and months ahead bring peace. May she rest in peace.
