Two Juveniles Lead Police On A Chase Through Albion

Police-light-barALBION, Mich. (April 6, 2014)- Two juveniles were taken into custody, after a police chase early Sunday morning in Albion.

According to the Albion Department of Public Safety, officers noticed a vehicle parked behind a Biggby Coffee in the 200 block of E. Michigan Ave. in Albion. When officers approached the vehicle, it took off. Officers chased the vehicle through side streets up to I-94 where the vehicle headed westbound on I-94.

Officers discovered that the vehicle was stolen.

During the chase on I-94, speeds reached 120 mph as the vehicle fled westbound. The Michigan State Police were able to deploy stop sticks near the 115 mile marker on I-94 and flattened both front tires. The pursuit came to an end quickly thereafter, when the vehicle struck a Michigan State Police Cruiser at a low rate of speed.

Two juveniles were taken into custody. The driver was lodged at the Calhoun County Juvenile Home.

The incident remains under investigation.
