Lake Charles, Porter, Ind.

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. (April 8, 2013) — The Porter County coroner was unable to make a positive identification on the body that was found in Lake Charles on Sunday morning.

Chuck Harris, the county coroner, initially planned to have preliminary autopsy results by Tuesday afternoon.

It’s not clear why they were unable to make an identification. The coroner’s office said they will issue a press release Wednesday morning.

The body is identified as a black woman who was wearing dark clothing. A description that matches what missing Kalamazoo doctor, Teleka Patrick was wearing the last time she was seen.

Patrick’s family issued a statement on Sunday, saying they were in “mourning” and thanked people for their prayers.
