MONTCALM TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Three people were injured when two cars collided Friday afternoon north of Greenville.

At 1:06 p.m. Friday, the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a two-car crash with injuries on South Greenville Road (M-91) north of Colby Road in Montcalm Township. The investigation revealed that a 67-year-old Belding woman was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango northbound on South Greenville Road when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she attempted a left turn into a private drive and was hit by a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 74-year-old Stanton man.

Both drivers plus a 47-year-old Stanton man who was a passenger in the Silverado were transported to Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville by Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services — all with non-life-threatening injuries.

All three were wearing safety belts at the time of the accident.

Speed is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The Belding woman was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

The Montcalm Township Fire Department assisted at the crash scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department.
